What is Chimay Triple?
Chimay Triple (“Cinq Cents”) is a Walloon-style Tripel: fruitier and honeyed compared to Flemish Tripels, less spicy, with medium body and a clean finish. The recipe dates back to 1966. Compared to Chimay Bleue — dark, malty, and complex — the Triple is lighter and more approachable, perfect as an introduction to the Trappist world.
Chimay Triple vs Chimay Bleue
- Chimay Triple: golden, fruity, honeyed, medium body, dry finish
