Nicola Grande, known as Nix, is one of those somewhat underrated brewers, unfairly so. His dedication and his now long experience have led him to produce some of the best Belgian-style beers ever made in Italy. It took a lot of study, but his Tripel really speaks Flemish from the first glance to the last sip. It’s no coincidence it’s called Malle and is one of the few legitimate daughters of the mother of all Tripels in the world. Like her, many other beers from Nix’s house evoke drinks in Flemish cafés and do so with obsessive precision. A great example of Italian brewing, without frills or exaggerated praise.
