Phantom Brewery

The Brasserie Fantome is the project of a visionary, a master brewer who became famous for his unconventional creations, often excellent and almost always tending towards a high alcohol content. A concept that is very dear to Dany Prignon - and to his father, who founded the brewery with him in 1988 - is that of Table Beer, that is, the beers that until a century ago accompanied the meals of every family, daily. Beers that were bought with the same frequency and manner as one would go to buy, for example, bread. And just like at the baker's, there were always exchanges of chatter, conviviality and stories of lived experiences. Hence the term "Saison" that stands out on almost all of Fantome's labels: more than referring to the beer style, it refers to the type of drink, which carries the Walloon peasant tradition and the convivial attitude of the people. All elements that have somewhat been lost over the years and that is precisely why Brasserie Fantome was born: to revive an area and a community now "asleep from too much inactivity".
A brewery also famous for a certain production inconsistency, which brings products that are always a bit different to our glasses, just as, probably, happened in other times long past. But this allure of the unknown also leads to epiphanies of extreme enjoyment, as often happens with Saison Fantome and other beers from Dany, which have become almost cult objects for many enthusiasts.
