1. Choose the Right Glass

The ideal glass for lager is the pilsner glass or the tumbler: they highlight clarity and foam. Make sure it is clean and free of detergent residues to avoid altering the flavor.

  • Pilsner glass: tall and slender — ideal for Pils and pale lager
  • Mug/stein: for Helles, Kellerbier, and rustic lagers
  • Tulip glass: for Vienna Lager and more aromatic lagers

2. Serving Temperature

Temperature is crucial:

  • Pilsner and pale lager: 4–6 °C
  • Helles and Bavarian lagers: 6–8 °C
  • Vienna Lager and Kellerbier: 8–10 °C
