Lupulus — The Humble Little Wolf of the Belgian Ardennes
More than just a brewery, Lupulus is a family business distinguished by its commitment to Belgian brewing tradition, the quality of its beers, environmental responsibility, and international recognition.
The story begins in 2003 with the brewery "Les 3 Fourquets", created to meet the demand of a nearby bistro. In 2007, Lupulus was born — a beer served in Champagne bottles — with the goal of marketing it in the Belgian Luxembourg region. Due to the great success of the beers crafted by Pierre Gobron and his sons Julien and Tim, in 2016 the brewery officially became Lupulus.
Why "Lupulus"?
In ancient times, wolves inhabited the quiet and rugged spaces of the beautiful Ardenne. It is said these packs came from Slovenia, where some of the best hops in the world are grown. True or not, the wordplay with the Latin name of hops — Humulus Lupulus, literally "humble little wolf" — has paid off.
