Blonde di Lupulus: The Belgian Tripel That Dresses Up as a Light Blonde

They say "Belgium is beautiful because it is diverse," or maybe the saying wasn’t exactly like that... But it certainly matches reality. Perhaps it’s the country where the relationship between brewers and beer styles is the most complex and colorful, and we like it that way.

This beer is called Blonde, but don’t expect a Belgian Blond Ale, because the label says "Bière Triple" and the alcohol content is 8.5% ABV. Complicating things is one of the specialties of the Belgians, as well as producing excellent beers with a good alcohol level that disguise themselves as light pale beers. Blonde di Lupulus is one of these.

Technical Features

Style: Belgian Tripel
Alcohol content: 8.5% ABV
Format: 33cl bottle

Brewery: Lupulus - Belgium

Produced following the Belgian tradition of Tripels, Blonde is a beer with a good alcohol content (8.5%) that disguises itself as a light pale beer. Belgian complexity in all its glory.

Tasting Notes

In appearance, Blonde is golden blonde, clear and bright, with a compact and persistent white foam. It looks like a light pale beer, but don’t be fooled!

The nose reveals typical aromas of Belgian Tripels: citrus (orange, lemon), spices (coriander, pepper), Belgian yeast notes (banana, clove), and malty nuances. The olfactory profile is complex and inviting.

On the palate, the body is medium-full, with lively carbonation typical of the Belgian style. The taste recalls the citrus and spicy notes from the nose, with a moderate bitterness that balances the malty sweetness. The alcohol content (8.5%) is present but well integrated, warming gently without ever burning.

Blonde dresses up as a light pale beer, but it is a full-fledged Belgian Tripel: complex, alcoholic, satisfying.

Complicating life is one of the specialties of the Belgians!
