Triplipa: guide to Tripel and its IPA version
Triplipa is born from the union of two souls of the beer world: TRIPEL (the malts and yeast) and IPA (the hopping, including dry hopping). The result is a bitter but easy-to-drink blonde that combines the alcoholic and fruity structure of the Tripel with the aromatic and bitter profiles of the hops.
What is a Tripel?
- Color: golden, clear.
- ABV: about 7–10%.
- Flavor: malty, with fruity and spicy notes from the Belgian yeast.
- Drinkability: surprisingly easy to drink thanks to the dry profile and carbonation.
Dubbel, Tripel and Quadrupel: differences
- Dubbel: amber/copper, malty, caramelized, dark fruit notes; ABV 6–8%.
- Tripel: clear and golden, more alcoholic, fruity/spicy aromas, drier; ABV 7–10%.
- Quadrupel: the strongest, often dark, rich, with wine or baked fruit notes; ABV 9–12%+.
