Tradition and craftsmanship: for us, these are not empty words. Nor mere folklore. We are a family business and brewers by conviction for four generations. Out of passion. For the simple desire of true pleasure. And because we have a clear idea of what an exceptional beer must have: character.

We gladly leave mass-produced inferior beer to industrial productions. We don’t bend for a few extra hectoliters. Quite the opposite.

We are a proud, not so small private brewery of Northern Franconia. For centuries at home in the Wunderburg district of Bamberg. Since 1895, this brewery has been owned by our family. Deeply rooted in the region. Today as then bound by the Bavarian Beer Purity Law of 1516 regulating beer production.

Because we trust in our ancient craft, we have a clear mind for today’s challenges and look to the future with curiosity and many new ideas. The art of the master brewer, the most modern techniques, and here and there a surprise blend wonderfully at Mahr's. What results can be tasted in our nine different specialty beers.
