Bière Darbyste is perhaps one of the most unusual brews from the far south of Belgium — but definitely stranger to say than to taste. Among the ingredients is fig juice, following the tradition of the area called Le Borinage, on the Franco-Belgian border. A recipe that comes from the grandparents of the current owners of Brasserie de Blaugies.

It appears with a classic golden color and white foam. In a blind tasting, no strong fruity flavors stand out: a beer from another era, both in taste balance and recipe.
