Nature Terra
Nature Terra — Spontaneously Fermented Beer with Grapes — Opperbacco Microbrewery
Nature Terra is the beer with local grapes crafted by Opperbacco Microbrewery, an artisanal brewery in Notaresco (Teramo, Abruzzo). Like the entire Nature line, it is made using raw materials closely linked to the Abruzzo territory. The grapes — after being destemmed — are pressed and transferred to the barrel. The beer wort ferments with the yeasts naturally present in the skins of the grapes: the same technique used for natural wines, applied to beer. The result is a beer that resembles a pet-nat in terms of aroma, bubbles, and acidity: earthy, mineral, complex.
Nature Terra vs Nature Amarene: the differences
Both belong to the Nature line of Opperbacco and share the same production philosophy — spontaneous fermentation with fruit yeasts, maturation in barrels — but they differ in the fruit used: grapes for Terra, sour cherries for Amarene. The profile of Terra is earthier and more mineral, with notes reminiscent of natural white wine; Amarene is fruitier and more tart, with the distinct character of wild cherries.

Sensory Profile
On the nose, it is earthy and mineral, with notes of ripe white grape, dried flowers, and a slight yeastiness reminiscent of unfiltered natural wines. On the palate, it is fresh and tart, with a fine and persistent carbonation typical of pet-nat. The finish is long, mineral, with a hint of white fruit and wet earth. A beer that is enjoyed with the same attention as a characterful natural wine.
