Riu is the Double IPA from Birrificio Altotevere: the flagship of the DAVE range, dedicated to bold hopping. More intense and higher in alcohol than the other historic creations from the Umbrian brewery in San Giustino, Riu is the result of careful research and selection of raw materials, carried out through direct relationships with malt and hop producers — with no intermediaries and a guarantee of high quality. Selected varieties provide a citrusy, resinous aromatic character, with just the right bitterness, well balanced by the sweetness of pale malt. A muscular yet highly approachable Double IPA.

Sensory profile

Deep golden in color, with a compact, persistent white head. Fresh, citrusy and tropical aromas dominate the nose. On the palate, the body is full and enveloping: the sweet opening of pale malt quickly gives way to an intense hoppy progression, with notes of citrus and tropical fruit and a decidedly bitter, resinous finish. The alcohol (8.1% ABV) is warming but well integrated. A sip that makes no secret of its character.
