Sake Azumarikishi Nama Honjozo
Sake Azumarikishi Nama Honjozo – Shimazaki Shuzo
Azumarikishi Nama Honjozo is an unpasteurized (Nama) sake of the Tokubetsu Honjozo style, produced by the historic brewery Shimazaki Shuzo, founded in 1849 in Tochigi Prefecture. The name Azuma Rikishi literally means "Sumo Wrestler of the East" — a tribute from the second generation of producers to the family’s great passion for sumo.

Tasting Notes
On the palate, it expresses a delicate umami balanced by a fresh fruity aroma, with a persistent aftertaste and a pleasant, soft sweetness in the finish. Being a Nama (raw, unpasteurized) product, its flavor tends to evolve in the glass after opening, revealing a progressively rounder and more complex taste.
The Ideal Moment to Drink It
Azumarikishi Nama Honjozo is perfect for a Japanese-style aperitif or as an accompaniment to sushi, sashimi, tempura, fresh cheeses, and delicate dishes. The 18cl can makes it ideal for convenient consumption, even on the go. Serve it at 10–12°C in a small glass or a traditional sake cup.
