The ingredient that makes the difference: the Piretto of Civita

In classic Belgian Witbiers, orange peels are a standard ingredient. De Alchemia chose to replace them with the peels of Piretto di Civita — a native Calabrian citrus fruit, unfortunately endangered, that grows in the inland areas of the province of Cosenza. In appearance and aroma, the Piretto is halfway between lemon and bergamot: citrusy, floral, with an aromatic complexity that no common orange peel could replicate.
